Celebrating Christmas 2011

Christmas with the Greens 2011 is just right around the corner! I am so excited to make some new memories with my one year old son & my husband. Yesterday, we all went to see the Christmas parade in our very TINY, small, little town. What surprised me was...it was a big parade! Awesome cars, band, the Christmas queen, police cars, the boys & girls scouts, Chick-fil-a cow, llams and lots of candies were thrown everywhere. Conner picked up a few & had a small lollipop. We saw Santa Claus on a fire truck! It was fun but very cold! Then we bundle up and drove 45 minutes to a Bass Pro shop located inside a mall. Conner got a free photo with Santa Claus. He didn't even cried at all. Hios very first photo with Santa! Then we ate at Johnny's Rocket for lunch. YUM! We got Conner a balloon because he loves balloons, of course! We shopped for a few presents then stopped by at a pottery store. I got to paint an ball ornament for our family Christmas 2011. I painted it red with bright green polka dots and had Conner's handprint on it. I hope it turns out cute when it's all done baking.

Then we stopped by at Starbucks for their specials B1G1 free drinks! Whoohoo! I got my dad a drink since BG doesnt like coffee. We head over to my parents' house to help move a heavy driving lawn mower. We ordered a pizza and rent a movie, hung out with Mimi & Opa. It was a lot of fun! Yes, it was a very busy day but we made good memories! I can't wait to get our Christmas tree out and decorate them this week. I don't know yet where we will put it becuase I'm kinda nervous that Conner will get into it. He is already handful and has 'sticky hands'. He likes to touch everything. :/

Oh I also have a great blessing! We are FOR SURE going to Michigan for Christmas!!!! Finally! We had been trying to go for the last few years but something always came up. It will be mine & Conner's first Christmas with the Greens' extended family. We have to be back on the 26th because of work schedule. So please pray for our safe travels. Thankfully, we will have enough time to see my little brother Zach who will be home for Christmas. Christmas 2011 is gonna be a busy one!

What will your Christmas be alike this year? I hope you will still remember that no matter where you are, Jesus's birth is a very good reason to celebrate Christmas. I hope it will be a great one!

The Thankful List

I'm pretty much filled with many thankful thoughts. I noticed on Facebook that some people posted a comment daily on what they are thankful for. For me, it's kinda hard to do 25 days of thanks, one post per day. So I decided to make a Thankful List.

I'm so thankful for:

My husband--He keeps my world spinning in the right direction. Whether they are about God, my spiritual life, how to raise my son or what to do cook for dinner.

My son--He continues to surprise me everyday! He never stops smiling and giving me a kiss. I love watching him learn something new about the world.

My parents--oh where would I be without them? They showed me how to love other people in the most Godly way. I love how they challenged me to go for the best and do the best that I could be.

My brothers--Brothers (or sisters) can drive us crazy but at the end, I couldn't imagine a better friend for life.

6 new sister-in-laws: I couldn't believe that I gained 6 new sisters in the las 2 years! It's great to have a close sisters to share my life with. I love each and every one of them.

Ice cream and cream soda & Dr. Pepper: It's the little treat that makes my day better!

Target: What else could I say? They have some good stuff!

Starbucks: I love their Peppermint Mocha & the Pumpkin Spice Latte...and their specials for B1G1 free drinks!

My Home: A place where memories and shelter are provided for.

My Car: A transportation that takes us from point A to point B, especially if its for Starbucks drink!

My new church family: I finally have found a new family to call my own. They have helped me a lot in my spiritual life. They became fast friends for my family.

My cousins: Boy! All I can say is, they understand what your family is like because we both share the same families. haha!

The far and near distant friends: I miss all my old friends. Even though, most friends live far away and we don't get to talk to each other often. I'll always know that we will pick up like we never had been apart.

T.G.I.Fridays & Chick-Fil-A! They have yummy food!

last but not least...God. It's so hard to fill this post with my every blessing that I have about God. He gave me a chance to live eternity with Him in heaven. I'm so thankful that He loves me so!

I can't believe how many more thankful thoughts that I still have in my mind. But let me end this thought with you. "What if you woke up with the only thing(s) that you thanked God for, yesterday?"

What is enough for you?

Recently, I saw this quote online. I do not know who said it but it made me think about what God has done for me.
"When we have nothing but God, we discover that God is enough."
Boy! I cannot began to describe how simple this sentence is. I gave me me deep thoughts all day. God is everything that I ever needed. God takes care of me when I need Him the most. He knows my every thoughts, the reasons for my tears to fall, all my hopes and dreams. He gives me the desire to love one another. He gives me a motherly & a wife's heart. It's a good reminder for myself is whenever I feel frustrating, sad, or having the desires for "wanting" what others have. I need to readjust my focus that God is enough. Wow! Isn't that simple? God is ENOUGH! That made me smile knowing that my heavenly Father cares for me. What about you? Do you think that God is enough for you?

Nascar & Swings!

Conner is starting to enjoy the small things kids usually like to do. The other day, we went to Publix and they had this new shopping cart with a cool seat for small kids. He enjoys "driving" the cart while I picked up some milk and bread. Then when we got home, Brian set up a baby swing that Mimi & Opa got for him. Conner loves it! I'm so glad that I got to intro him to my love for swings. I guess I will never grown tired of swinging!
The next Nascar race driver!
