Blue Ridge Train Ride

It's my birthday...I'm not telling you my age. But I can promise you that I'm not 25 anymore. ;) My hubby took Conner and I to Blue Ridge, GA. We rode on the train to the state border between TN and GA. We explored two cute little tourist towns and bought some wonderful fudge! It was great to spend some time in the mountains and with my boys!

So excited for his first train ride!

Waiting for the train to move

Daddy's first time too!

Strawberry Patch Farm

Yay!! My dad asked if I want to go to pick some strawberries today. Yes, please!  It's a perfect day for pickin' the juicy red goodness. It's a cool, sunny morning with some fogs in the clearing. The strawberries are ripen up fast. They are ready for picking much earlier than usual because of all the warmer weather that we had been having. My dad, Brian, Conner and loaded up and drove about 45 minutes into the country. There were already early morning pickers at the farm. It cost $10 a gallon....awesome!! You can't beat that price for fresh picked strawberries! This was Conner's first experience. He loved it so much that he actually filled up his stomach more than the bucket. His hands and face were all red. Even his clothes were stained too. BUT who cares about stained on the clothes. Memories are made and strawberries are amazing! Overall, we had so much fun! We brought home 4 gallons of strawberries! Alright! Bring on the homemade jams, desserts and strawberry lemonade!

Easter Weekend!

Conner went on an Easter Egg hunt for the first time. He rocked at it! He knew the game like someone already sercretly taught him. No, we didn't practice at home but I guess if teaching him to put his toys away may partly count. My mom and I took my niece and Conner to 1st Baptist Church, where my mom works at the daycare. It's a big church. Mom was told that they have over 5,000 eggs. whoa. But yeah there was still enough leftover for the late comers.

Shortly, after my niece start puting the eggs in her basket, she realized there's "ninny" (candy) in it. She loves, I mean really LOVES candy! She even took took the time to check the eggs if there are candies in it...if not, she throws the egg back on the ground. haha that's my niece with a sweet tooth!

After the awesome and an easy easter egg hunt fun, we stopped at McDonalds for a quick snack since we will have a late lunch. The kids really enjoyed sitting in their own car seats right next to each other. I don't remember if that has ever happened before. They adored the fries and chicken nuggets...well Amira was a little picky about the chicken nuggets but I'm sure she still has "ninny" on her mind. haha!

We went back to my parents' house. The boys (my dad, lil' brother zach who is here for the wkd and BG) were doing some yard work. They just got back form shopping for a brand new gas grill. BG really wants a grill and I guess now is the time for a shiny toy! :) Mom and I prepped the kabobs with chicken, steak, shrimp, and the veggies. YUM! I wish I had some right now. Bg grilled them and we had lunch with my family plus my brother Aaron, Aubrie, my grandparents, my aunt Michele, uncle Greg and their boys. It was a lot of fun! I took a lot of cute pictures of the kids mostly. I mean why not?? Babies are cuter than adults. Ha ha! We also had a bonfire and S'mores. The kids enjoyed them. Oh yeah, I almost forgot...Zach and I came up with "adult" s'mores. Instead of the tradtional hershey chocolate, we used Lindt Lindor chocolate truffle. YUM!!!!! It's very sweet but awesome! I love this kind of day. Being outside in such a perfect weather with the grill going makes me happy. :)

My favorite pic! Roasting Conner's 1st marshmellow!

Loving his s'mores. So sticky & messy!

She is more organized with her food and less messy if I may say so.
