Our Boy Learned Another New Sign!

This is my son signing a new ASL, "Lion". His daddy taught him that, of course it comes from a Lions' fan from Michigan. ;)

It's kinda funny that Conner had food in one of his hands. I promise I washed his hair after practicing.

**Excuse me for roaring in the background...it is to add an awesome sound effect to his signing. Love this lil' guy!

Falling Asleep

I realized that I hadn't record a video of Conner faling asleep. Here it is!This was right after he had a bath. :)

61 degree on January 25th?!

Wow, it's such a lovely day! 61 degree with lots of sunshine! I think I shall take Conner outside to play after lunch. Maybe go visit the chickens too?

Guess what? Picnik.com is shutting down on April 19. Boo! I love using that site to edit all my pictures. The good news is they allow anyone to use the premium options. Whoohoo! So, I will be making a lot of edited pictures until then. Go here to use the site ----> let's make some memories!

Brian had asked for sweet chicken bacon wrapped for dinner. yeah I know, it's so Paula Deen without adding butter. Oh well, at least I will have a happy camper or two at the dinner table. Click here for the yummy recipe.

Gotta go make lunch! bye =)

Raising A Spiritual Child

I usually get my weekly emails on child growth that follows Conner's age. It really helps me a lot to know what to expect and advise on different subjects such as teething or eating a new food. An interesting article came to my computer screen, "How to raise a spiritual child". Article found here. While I don't agree with some of the article, this quote really caught my attention.

"Young children don't understand who God is, but they don't really understand who a grandparent is either," says Neifert. "Still, you want them to know Grandma, so you start talking about her from day one. It's the same thing with the idea of God."
This is so true. God & Grandmas are important to us. Amen, right? This had helped me to understand toddlers better. I really want my son to know who God is and what He has done for us. I also wanted him to know who is grandma & grandpa? And who is Mimi & Opa? Maybe those questions will occur in my child's mind someday. One day, he will know the answer to that. :)

It's my desire to teach Conner that God is important to our family. We pray before our meals. We go to church to worship. We talk about God in our normal conversation. We read our bible and thank God for his provisions. We sing songs to worship Him before bedtime. I hope that Conner will one day understand that God takes care of us. He forgives us. God is love. I know that it is a challenge to "show" Conner that there is a God, even though He is not in a physical person right in front of those cute blue eyes. Don't worry, I will show him what God did. He made those pretty flowers that comes every Spring. He made Lyla & Fat Al (our dog & cat). He made mommy & daddy. He made the skies blue filled with those funny shape clouds. He gave us water to drink and grew our fruit to eat. He made orange popsicles. He made everything! I bet just thinking about those thoughts are overwhelming.

Yes, I have faith & hope that Conner's heart will grow fonder to the One who loves him the most. I know that if Conner develop a sense of a spiritual mind, he will see how extraordinary God is. His walk with the Lord will be rich and sweet. Don't forget...what you feed to your child's mind is how he will use it when he is older.

Here is a good quote to end with your final thoughts.

"Parents are the first view of God kids will ever see."

What are you thoughts about raising a spiritual child?

Broccoli Cheddar Soup

It's a cold & rainy day. Perfect for making some yummy soup! The problem is...
I couldn't decide which soup to make, broccoli & cheddar soup or chili. So I asked my facebook friends to cast their vote. Broccoli Cheddar soup won. That's what we had for dinner tonight! Oh yeah, I also made panini sandwiches to go with the soup. Yum!

My husband is a happy man! ***The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. ;)

My son is a messy boy...but he sure loves it!

Here's the recipe that I used. Panera Bread Broccoli Cheese soup. I reduced the amount of nutmeg since I'm not a big fan of it.

Conner signing "please"

I finally got a video of Conner signing "please"! And what's cool is that he adjust his hand to rub on the chest instead of shaking his hand in the air. haha! He is becoming more and more observation when I sign to him. Isn't he awesome? =)

10 Things From Pinterest

10 things from Pinterest that I want to do or would love to have!

Twinkle twinkle little star, how encouraging you are! This is a great project to make for someone who needs positive encourage once in awhile. Someone special can pick a star and open it to read a saying. They can do this whenever they need it the most. I think I may do this for my secret sister at my church. =)

Don't this look yummy? I love pizza and anything pizza in a roll sounds good to me! I think I shall make this recipe this weekend. hello pepperoni & cheese! i've miss you!

Wow! Think design and color really gives the kitchen some pop! I love blue and anything in turquoise. This will be a wonderful birthday present! ;)
Pretty designs here

I never once thought that I would like to make fabric necklace. Just last weekend, I got a really cute gray & white stripe long sleeve shirt on sale from target. I realized it needed some pop or colors. So, I found this on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. It was fun to make! I used red fabric from my old GA bulldog t-shirt and sewed on some pearls. Lovely!

Now this is something I would love to try! I used to make hemp bracelets all the time, especially during camp. This will be a pretty jewelry to wear to the  beach or add some character to a cute outfit on a date night.

Sometimes, I wish I live in the 50's era. I really like the dress! I could imagine wearing this & dance to a big band music! Then go to the ice cream parlor afterward. =) Hey, I can dream could I?

What a cool design to little bathroom! I think I would like to do something like this to my future bathroom. It's better than plain old white cabinet.
Benjamin's collection bike-sink

My blogger friend, L. Jo, had made this for her house. I love the character from the wood and the color. The song is a sweet reminder too!

If you haven't tried this artichoke dip then you're missing out the party! This is amazing! Even for those who isn't a big fan of artichoke (or first time taster) will love this! It's fill with fatty stuff so be ye warned if you're on your New Year's resolution!

I love their smiles! They are so contagious :)

Snow On 36th Street

It snowed every weekend while I was visiting. NICE!! It's so beautiful to see snow covered field. Too bad, it didn't stick so we could go snow sledding. Never fear...the kids did play in the snow for a little bit before it all melted away. So here some pictures!

No Sound

Grr! My cochlear implant (hearing aid) had been having some weird problems. I never had that problem before for the last 10 years. The CI kept shutting off by itself. I already had replaced a part of the CI and ordered a new battery charger. It didn't help. It made me frustrating sometimes because I really want to hear some sounds. Some of the time I think I'm fine not hearing anything. Then it comes to nap time...I'm so glad that Lynn and Don bought us a baby monitor. I never had the need for it until now. Then when it comes to watching a new movie or wanting to listen to the music. I can't do anything about hearing it. It already had been about 2 weeks of not hearing anything. Almost 2 months of on n' off problem. I miss hearing Conner laughing and watching a movie with sounds on. It's hard to wait and find out if the CI company can repair it. I hope it won't cost me too much money or at least let's hope that my insurance will cover it.

On the positive side, I am able to every day regular stuff. Go food shopping, play with my kids, and talk to my husband. Even though, there was some rough spots in our communication I'm really glad that my hubby has patience with me. I kept saying "what? I can't understand your signing". This really challenge him to sharpen his skills and pay attention to give clear signing than being "sloppy". Thanks darling, if you're reading this. =)

Anyway, please pray that I can get this CI fix soon. Thanks!

Imagine!

Imagine yourself going on a Safari hunt where the lion sleeps and the antelope play.

Imagine yourself strolling along in Paris with a fancy coat on & a pretty hat. Let's go for a walk, my dear poodle dog. Don't forget to have a spot of tea at MacKenna's cafe. Enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower under the stars!

Imagine yourself soaring through space looking for a shooting star and explore the planets.

The stars and planet glows in the dark, including a moon in the sun!

Those are my nephews and niece's imagination! Painting the kids art in their room was a blast!
